Pictures from the beautiful wedding

Brandon and Brandi were married this past weekend. And what a beautiful wedding it was. Brandi and her family put a lot of thought into making this one very special day. Here a just a few of the may pictures that were taken. These were actually taken by Brandon's stepfather Jearl. His originals were much better than what I have posted but I couldn't wait to get something post to show off. The top picture is of course the wedding party. The second is our family and the grooms grandparents. And the last picture is the flower girl-Camryn and the ring bearer -Dylan. Dylan is Zina and Jearl's son. Aren't they just adorable. Hopefully later I will have more pictures to share.

STAMPIN' UP! News

Just found out
1)Back to one catalog a year!!!! Beginning with July's catalog release....starting july 2009
2) Decor elements minis 2 per year
3) 3 stamp minis catalogs per year - each lasting 4 months - with a small number of hostess sets introduced in each mini.

This is exciting news. I have so many people tell me they didn't have enough time to order all they wanted from the 6 month catalog, and stay in their stamping budget! This will also make it easier for clubs, we can have up to 10 people in the same club (if everyone had agreed of course). Happy dance - can't wait.

These two items are the projects for this month's stamp camp. Both are made with the Designer Series Paper and Ribbon Bundle from SAB. Both are also made using the "Good Egg" stamp set. The little egg shaped card is part of the Easter basket project.

End of club projects done!

As I said in a previous post....This end of club project was a little more involved than what we usually do. And after doing the project I will say
1) Make sure the box you are using as the example is the same size as the ones everyone else will be doing. Or at least measure the one you are cutting the paper for and not the one you have already done. Yes, I messed up! But at least the box they were doing was smaller so the paper could be cut down.
2)I was going to do something with the modge podge and card stock on the boxes and found out the hard way card stock is just to thick and wrinkles bad. At least I found out before class.

They all turned out really nice and am looking forward to getting pictures of Kellie's and Mary's after they have finished theirs. All members were given a kit made with the Raspberry Tart designer paper that is in the new 2009 Spring/Summer catalog to use as they wished. Yvette, Claudette, and Melanie used it for their boxes. Melissa used the Washington Apple designer paper she had just purchased to cover hers. Pictured above top to bottom Yvette, Claudette, Melanie, and Melissa.

End of club project

OK, this is a little bit bigger project than we usually do for end of club. But it is something I think we can all use. The one that is finished is made using the "Maine Blueberry" designer paper that is retiring. I don't have enough of it to go around and it is retiring anyway. The paper above is "Raspberry Tart" from the new Spring/Summer 2009 catalog available Jan 19Th. It is really bright and cheery. The colors are Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss, Cameo Coral, and Real Red. You can mix solid card stock colors with it or mix and match. It is first come first serve with the papers. This is what I have set aside for this project but if the colors are not something you think you would like you are welcome to bring something you already have. I do have some papers that have retired that you are welcome to check through. I decopouged the paper onto the box. I stamped and cut out flowers and placed on a matted base for the front. The flowers are from "Petal Pizazz". Jumbo eyelets are in the lid with ribbon run thru. I don't have pictures of the dividers inside.

How to cut out stamped images

Click on this video by Linda Heller's husband that explains how to cut out stamped images. I know.....you're saying to yourself.....do I really need to watch a video on how to cut something out? Answer - YES! But only if you want them to look good. I hear all the time ....I hate to cut stuff out...mine don't look like yours. Well watch the video and practice a few. I promise yours will look great!

Household Hint

As anyone knows that has ever had a sick little one - when they get sick it usually ends up everywhere! And I don't care how good you clean, it's almost impossible to get rid of the smell. FOUND SOMETHING THAT WORKS!!!! We have a little green machine carpet spot and upholstery cleaner. It's a mini carpet cleaner type thingy. Anyway, clean the carpet really good with that. Then spray the offensive area with "Clorox Disinfecting Kitchen Cleaner". Don't overly saturate to area. Let it sit for about 30 minutes and then reclean the carpet with the machine. The next day even the Clorox smell is gone. Disclaimer - this product is not approved to be used this way, and spot check your carpet for color change first.

Stamper's Challenge

This month's challenge is to make a card using -

1st - Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration colors

2nd - I want to see something special for the inside of a card

3rd - Over do it, a card with lots of layers, color and embellishments. When you think you have enough ....add something else

Bring your creations to stamp camp so I can photograph and post on the blog. And I don't want to hear.....I didn't bring mine.....I didn't like how it turned out. Let's share ideas!

Change in sales dates for the new catalog

Catalog Date Changes
January 5, 2009

When you receive the Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog, you'll see a change in the sales dates--January 19 through June 30, 2009. Ending this catalog on June 30 allows you to start the new Stampin' Up! year with a bang . . . and a new catalog! The Fall-Winter 2009 Idea Book & Catalog dates are July 1, 2009, through mid-January 2010. The mid-January release of the Spring-Summer 2010 catalog gives you time after the holidays to kick off a new catalog.

"Just Buzzin By"

Yet another stamp set from the upcoming catalog. These little bees are too cute. I'm trying to come up with a card to do for the class at the end of this month using this set. The card you see here is colored masking and using mostly sponges. I can't decide which to use for the class card - sponges, markers, watercoloring, or blender pens. I'll get it figured out. Anyway, I also wanted to remind everyone not to forget to use your talents on the inside of cards too. This one is done using two color double matting and stamping. Too cute. Let me know what you think.

My wish list

One day when my house magically expands and I have a craft room, this would be my ideal setup. Oh so pretty.....

Second item for stamp camp Jan 30th

This is a desktop flip calendar. We are doing the winter month page in class. I'll send the remainder of the months sheet home and lets see what you come up with on the other seasons. I will post on the blog pictures of what you do with it. I thinks it's neat how different they will all turn out. It's made with the "Snow Swirled" set, Baja/Not Quite Navy/Choc Chip papers. OK, that's it for stamp posts for the week. I may post more but I doubt it. Camryn is still sick. When she is better I have a load of houses to catch up on this week. Happy Stamping!!!

First Item for Stamp camp on Jan 30th

This card is fashioned after a card by Krissie. It's made using a new stamp set that will be in the Spring/Summer 2009 Idea Book and Catalog due out in about two weeks. I used the colors Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Real Red. I just love this color combo - clean and happy colors! You may have to click on the picture and enlarge to see that I used the "Seeing Spots" embossing template to dry emboss flowers on the white. The stamp set is called Petal Pizzazz and is full of lot of flowers, a stem and leaf. I see lots of colorful, cute cards with this set. Give me your feedback - are these type cards ones you like to see made at camp? Do you like the colors, layout? Are they too simple for your taste?

Sale-A-Bration 2009 Click to enlarge

New Club Rules, Dates And Monthly Members

The clubs are broken down into two groups.
Club #1 Mary, Claudette, Melanie, Melissa
Club #2 Yvette, Carinda, Pam, Annette
The list of Stamp Camps and which month you are hostess is on the right side of my blog

Each person is responsible for ordering $37.50 in product (before shipping/tax) for 4 consecutive months on the club dates. If you know what you want to order before you arrive at stamp camp please email me so I can have a total ready. But you are welcome to wait and decide after camp. If you are not attending camp but have a club order due - please email me 3 days before with your order. This will give me time to get your order totaled, you to get the check in the mail and to me by the time it's due. You are welcome to get outside orders to add to the club orders. I will try to divide any outside orders I get fairly. At the end of club I usually do a project free of charge to all members and I also loan out my hostess sets from that catalog to members.

SAB or Sale-A-Bration will be going on through the first 3 club orders. SAB is a brochure with 6 items that you can pick one from with every $50 purchase. If you didn't receiive an email copy from me let me know and I will resend one.

New 2009 Catalogs

The New Spring/Summer 2009 Catalog and Idea Book should arrive sometime around the 16th of this month. I will email when I have copies available.
