Bring your stamper's challenge to camp
Bring your stamper's challenge to stamp camp Friday. I can't wait to get pictures to post here. If you are having trouble, give me a call and we'll work something up together.
First stampers challenge
Wow, I almost let the time get away from me. I will list two challenges that you are all welcome to do. I will post pictures of the items you make on the blog next week for all to see. This is a neat way for all of us to find new ways to use the items we have in a way we may not have thought of. We are going to start out really simple. Each challenge is separate from the others. Here is the list of challenges
- Make an item using the colors Red, Black and White
- Make a card using the layout I used below titled "Snow Swirled Diamonds". Use any stamps and color card stock/ribbon you like
I wanted to start easy so everyone could come up with something without a lot of thought. Get started.......

Stamp Camp October 3rd

These are the 5 items for stamp camp on October 3rd. Please keep in mind that if you attend you will need to bring a white pillar candle to stamp on. The one in the picture is only about three inches tall. A larger candle would look great. I will send out the email in the next week or so to reserve spots.
Flower For All Seasons
Happy 10th Anniversary Melissa and Ken

This is the card I sent to Melissa and Ken for their 10th anniversary. I am very proud of it. Thanks to them for their sweet comments on the card. I had to share it.The picture doesn't capture the glitter on it. Yes, I said glitter. I used the "Together Forever"and "Friendship Blossoms" from 2008 SAB. Click the pictures for better details
Tutorial for watercolor "cheat" technique
This is the technique we used in class for September to make the Bloomin Beautiful and Bellas Border card. If you scroll down you will see it. Below is a detail of the steps to achieve this look. I have to tell that on this one I only recomend using watercolor paper, your image stamped with Stazon, and using Stampin' Up's blender pens. I do not get the same result with off brand blenders. I suggest SU's inks, but you can use others you may already have as long as they are waterbased dye ink. Below you will see how each step looks after it has dried. So here goes...
Flower Petal Coloring
Pick up ink on the blender pen and color the dark lines or shadow spots only.
Wipe some of the color from the blender, wait 10 seconds, then use the blender to pull the darker color to the white areas.
DO NOT PICK UP MORE INK FROM THE PAD. Don’t keep going over the area more than 2 times – the paper will pill up.
Next petal ….pick up ink... After all petals are done leave for 5 minutes (at least)
You will do this step 3 times. Always wait 5 minutes between.
The last step is to outline with the fine tip of marker. Only slightly blend this line. Wait 5 minutes
Mask the flower. Use a dauber to sponge So Saffron around flower and stem.

Stampers Challenge and October Stamp Camp info
I post my first "Stampers Challenge" around the 3rd week of September. I will also send out the email about Oct 3rd stamp camp around the same time. October 3rd Stamp Camp I will have everyone bring their own large pillar candle and I will supply the items to do candle stamping on it. I told everyone at the last camp what I wanted to do with the candles. I gave them a choice between me purchasing a votive or them bringing a large pillar.
I stamped for me this past weekend and don't have anything to post right now. But in the next week or so I will post a picture of all the Oct 3rd camp projects.
I am going to try to set up a large table at the next camp to display my MANY samples. Please feel free to bring a camera and get ideas. Come a few minutes early and I would be glad to explain any of them too.
